Upgraded Pot Pie

Updated: Apr 19

Another of my "better than fast food" easy dishes

Defrost a frozen pot pie by putting it in the refrigerator. This shortens the baking time. I put mine in the refrigerator the night before or as I start my morning chores. If baking more than one, just follow the package's instructions and bake pot pie until the crust is bubbling and golden brown.

If there is only one, and you want to use a toaster oven, loosely cover the pot with wax paper and foil (so that the foil is not touching your food). Bake at about 350 degrees until the pot pie is hot through and through. Remove the covering and let the pot pie continue baking until the crust turns golden brown. The inside of the pie should now be bubbling hot.

Warm 1 cup of frozen mixed veggies.

Remove them from the heat when the veggies are almost done to your liking.

Break up (or remove) the top pot pie crust.

Mix warmed veggies into the inner sauce.

The heat of the sauce will finish cooking the veggies.

Season lightly with salt, pepper, or onion powder. (opt)

Enjoy!
